We are currently seeking a dedicated Stores Assistant to manage inventory operations within our hospital. This role requires involvement in various aspects of procurement, stock management, maintenance, and distribution to ensure optimal inventory levels. The successful candidate will use their keen attention to detail to identify discrepancies, reconcile stock levels, and effectively address any inventory issues. Additionally, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the Stores area are key responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities
- Stock Control and Administration:
- Place orders for hospital stock using the preferred procurement system as needed.
- Verify pricing on procurement systems.
- Receive and inspect deliveries alongside a designated individual.
- Unpack and store items in accordance with organizational standards, adhering to FEFO and FIFO principles.
- Ensure all delivery documents are confirmed, signed, and forwarded to the appropriate department for receipting.
- Efficiently organize stock on shelves and manage inventory spaces.
- Handle the distribution of stock to various storage locations or cost centers, including recording stock transfers and processing consumable transfers.
Qualifications and Education
- Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification.
- Certification in Basic Stores and Stock Control (BSSC).
- Knowledge of Production and Inventory Management Principles (PPIM).
