Introduction:
Life Hilton Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (Theatre Qualified) to join our team. Reporting to Shirley Freese, Theatre Unit Manager, the successful candidate will assist the surgical team in performing procedures and ensuring optimal patient care in alignment with company and hospital objectives.

Critical Outputs:

  1. Financial Management:
    • Manage theatre clocking time for accurate charging.
    • Ensure proper charging of consignment stock, equipment, and prosthesis.
  2. Equipment and Instrumentation: Life HealthCare Registered Nurse
    • Educate and supervise staff on correct equipment utilization.
    • Ensure proper functioning of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
  3. Patient Care:
    • Obtain pre-operative information and visit patients post-operatively.
    • Assist surgeons during procedures and ensure patient comfort.
  4. People Management:
    • Provide theatre-specific training and assess staff competence.
    • Monitor normal and overtime hours, ensuring adherence to scope of practice.
  5. SHEQ Management:
    • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and use of protective clothing.
    • Manage medical waste disposal to control infection.
  6. Stakeholder Relationships:
    • Attend meetings to maintain internal stakeholder relationships.
    • Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • General Nursing Degree/Diploma with Operating Theatre Nursing experience.
  • Clinical competence in Operating Theatre Nursing.
  • Postgraduate Diploma/Degree in Operating Theatre Nursing.
  • Registration with SANC and certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Understanding of private healthcare industry and computer proficiency advantageous.
