We are seeking diligent and responsible individuals to join our team as Cleaners at the Head Office and Mbombela Square. This role is critical in ensuring a clean, hygienic, and orderly environment within our facilities. As a Cleaner, you will be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the workplace, contributing to a productive and pleasant atmosphere for all staff and visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- A minimum of Grade 10 or a National Certificate (Vocational) Level 2 is required.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Basic Literacy and Numeracy: The ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations is essential for managing cleaning schedules and understanding instructions.
- Communication Skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed to the required standard.
- Machine and Equipment Operation: A basic understanding of how to operate elementary cleaning machines and equipment is advantageous.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours when necessary, especially during special events or when the workload demands, is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cleaner, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Workplace Hygiene:
- Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the workplace. Your attention to detail will ensure that all areas are kept in pristine condition.
- Routine Cleaning Tasks:
- Perform a variety of routine cleaning tasks to ensure that all spaces are clean and well-maintained. This includes:
- Dusting: Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including desks, chairs, and other office furniture.
- Polishing: Polish furniture and other surfaces to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.
- Vacuuming: Vacuum carpets and rugs to remove dirt, dust, and other debris.
- Mopping: Mop floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent slips or falls.
- Waste Management: Remove waste and ensure that all trash bins are emptied regularly to prevent littering and maintain a clean environment.
- Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaning: Ensure that bathrooms and kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned, stocked with necessary supplies, and free from unpleasant odors.
- Passage and Boardroom Maintenance: Clean and maintain boardrooms, passages, and other common areas to ensure they are always presentable.
- Perform a variety of routine cleaning tasks to ensure that all spaces are clean and well-maintained. This includes:
- Refreshment Service:
- Serve refreshments in boardrooms during meetings and other events as requested. Your service will contribute to the professional atmosphere of the office.
- Cleaning Material Management:
- Keep and maintain an inventory of cleaning materials and equipment. Ensure that all supplies are stored properly and that equipment is in good working condition. Report any shortages or issues to the supervisor promptly.
