Purpose
To perform essential cleaning and refuse bin delivery tasks, which may include street cleaning, sweeping, stacking, lane flushing, carcass removal, and bin deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform street cleaning and sweeping.
- Clean all bins.
- Wear protective clothing at all times.
- Retrieve and distribute the correct number of bags from the store.
- Distribute bags to consumers as per services.
- Collect refuse bags and stack them on the trolley.
- Clear spillage when bags break.
- Collect new/replacement bins from central stores and load them onto the delivery truck.
- Offload and deliver new/replacement refuse bins.
- Ensure customers sign for deliveries and provide them with a copy of the delivery receipt.
- Liaise with the public, service users, and officials, ensuring prompt resolution of complaints and queries.
- Report safety, equipment, and injury incidents to the team leader.
- Ensure completion of daily tasks.
- Perform other delegated tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 education.
- 12 months of cleaning/general work experience.
- No criminal record.
- Physically and mentally fit.
- Must be a South African resident living within the City of Johannesburg.
Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors
- Knowledge of company procedures.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and execute assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
