Essential Requirements:

• ABET or Grade 11 Certificate and a Grade ‘C’ PSIRA certification or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in security operations.
• No criminal records or pending cases.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work irregular hours including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, and undergo security vetting. Security Officer Post x143 Officers Needed

Knowledge and Skills Needed:

• Understanding of Security legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Familiarity with Public Service Regulations, Security Registers, Batho Pele Principles, and MISS.
• Excellent customer management, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management.

Personal Attributes:

• Disciplined, self-confident, meticulous, flexible, and initiative-taking.
• Ethical, reliable, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage access control and provide visitor and contractor escorts.
• Conduct electronic searches of individuals and baggage using metal detectors and X-ray machines.
• Ensure the safety of staff and visitors on premises.
• Perform general security and patrol duties, including vehicle searches and security checks at duty points.
• Record incidents and maintain security logs.
• Manage parking access and visitor vehicle registrations.
• Ensure that all departmental assets leaving the building are properly authorized.
• Prevent unauthorized access and ensure building safety.
